Advantages and Disadvantages of Rhinoplasty

When it comes to any cosmetic surgery procedure, there will always be disadvantages as well as advantages associated with that surgery. The rhinoplasty procedure is no different but when it comes to The History Of Plastic Surgery procedure the disadvantages and advantages greatly depend on the type you decide to undergo. For example, you have a choice between and open as well as a closed. With the open the obvious advantage is clear. In this type of procedure the entire nasal cavity is open and exposed which means the surgeon has a greater freedom to repair medical related issues with the nose during the procedure. This form also allows for the most amount of custom work as it also completely exposes the underlying cartilage and allows the surgeon to carve this cartilage to your liking.

Grafting is possible ad can be done easily in utilizing the open procedure. Unfortunately this is also a disadvantage as the ease of doing grafting with an open surgery does Tummytuck necessarily give the best results. Another disadvantage has to do with people just not liking the work that was accomplished and thus requesting a revision. The open rhinoplasty surgery is the easiest to revise where as a Bad Plastic Surgery How To Prevent It rhinoplasty requires an open rhinoplasty revision to return your nose to its original shape.

One of the biggest disadvantages of the procedure is of course the fact that it is a surgery and therefore there will be an incision. While in most cases this incision is made at the base of the nose and us usually undetectable, in some cases this incision can leave an unsightly scar for the patient to have to deal with.

The open is a longer procedure than that of the closed so this is therefore an advantage to the closed while at the same time it is a disadvantage to the open procedure. While the closed procedure generally takes one to two hours, the open procedure can take more than 3 hours to complete.

There is no common denominator as to whether an open or closed rhinoplasty is better and it is actually determined based on your needs from the procedure. You will need to discuss your expectations from the surgery and your surgeon will then be able to explain the advantages and disadvantages as they apply to your particular case.
